Besides the vendors, and seminars during the daytime, we had prizes and entertainment and pizza and pot lucks, and time to spend with some of our RV friends. The weather was a little cool, and breezy, and there was a lot of noise overhead with the Air Force planes flying in out out at the Marine station across the street, but it was better than last years location in Casa Grande. this was a cut and paste picture because I wasn't quick enough to catch the Osprey going overhead. We didn't see any guys jumping out of the tail. But it did fly this close overhead.
My friends Barbara Westerfield , and Judy Rinehimer, and I put on a seminar for GEOCACHING. http://www.geocaching.com/ and we had over 60 attendees at the 2 hour session. It was a "hands on seminar", mostly for new cachers. Barbara gave them an overview of how and why to cache, and then we broke them into groups by levels of caching knowledge, and took them out to find the hidden caches around the fairgrounds. It was fun and successful and now there are a few more crazy cachers on the road.
Seeing all our friends at a Rally is the best part of attending. We had lots of our Boomer friends from our Escapee RV Club who were there. We had to have a meeting place to gather for Happy Hour daily, because with over 200 rigs parked around the fairground, we were not all together and might have missed someone. So daily, those who wanted to, met to greet and chat and eat! Some of our Boomer friends who live in Yuma in the Winter, came for the day on Thurs to visit and share our pot luck.
Ken had some fun one evening when 3 of the tallest people at the event surrounded our "leader Nick". Nick was like a Dwarf amongst the giants. They had fun teasing him and he's good at taking the tease.
We left the rally in good spirits to return home to Carlsbad and more adventures to come. Our good friends Maryann and Ken Watson came home with us for a couple days R&R. we enjoyed their visit and now they are heading for another rally in Hemet, CA and we are preparing to visit our friend Doris Strimple from Indiana who is visiting in Malibu. Stayed tuned for more adventures of Sue and Ken.

I agree! The Yuma fairgrounds is much nicer than Casa Grande, even with the aircraft. I wanted to see one of the Osprey land or take off vertically, but they didn't do that while we were watching. Looks like fun and Ken even had his five minutes of fame.
Oh, and I'm glad you're blogging again! I missed you.
Good for your Sue--you are right on track with your blogging goals. It was good to see you & Ken in Yuma.
We really enjoyed the rally, the Happy Hours and seeing our Boomer friends also. Good to see you blogging again.
